Default Wanting new Hoosier A6's

Would there be any issues with buying new A6's that are about a year old if they are stored properly?

Tire Rack has 275/40-17's in stock but with a date code from 12th week of 2012.

No. If they are stored properly, which I'm sure Tire Rack does.

I have tires from '10 contingency winnings still. They are always fast when I run them. Storage is more important than age, the "old" ones are always just as fast as the "new" ones.

I don't know much about slicks. What's the proper storage procedure.

don't leave them sitting out in your trailer. don't leave them in super cold or super hot places. not outside or in a storage shed, etc

a cool, dark, dry basement is good. wrap them in plastic bags is a good idea

Wound up ordering a set of A6's from the Tire Rack last week. They did indeed have 1212 codes (12th week of 2012). When I used their online chat feature, the guy said they only ship tires in the order received. So it seemed that there was no way to ask for a specific date code by week or by range.

Should have them mounted sometime this coming week.
