New Pocono Infield
Don't know who this is, but found it on youtube. New track looks interesting, very tight. Finally it has decent width and real curbing.

I was there. It is tight, and slow. And slick. And bumpy. If it was in my backyard I wouldn't kick it out of bed, but I won't be driving 3.5 hours to go there again.

Melting Slicks
If that is the east course, I went once around 10 years ago. TOTAL DISGRACE. Every nut and bolt on my car loosened up, and I spent 2 days after the event going over my car.

Part of it is the old east course. The old east course used to share the Long Pond straight so this is different. Also old East course used to have a hair pin turn to the right that I didn't see.. Maybe if they used the left hand turn just after pit out it would follow the old east course. Looks like they added some extra paths to come up with some extra configurations.

The course that they are running is a much smaller course that doesn't utilize the front or back strait of the oval. Your not going to get the feel of a bigger track or flow from a tight course like that. I liked Pocono when both double infields were run, my only gripe was that it was bumpy. When the true double infield course is run or the SCCA course were both front and back straits are run along with turn one, the improvements that they made are going to make the course really nice and fast. The south east course would be used in my mind for car control, working on technical skill and being smooth, but not for a race or a large scale DE. The Audi club will be running the full confirguration on May 3rd next Friday so if you want the full experiance come on out. You can register on Motorsportreg.com
