Options for C5 Oil Temp Sensor
I installed an oil cooler this weekend and the port on the adapter doesn't fit the stock temp sensor. Any other options to replace the stock temp sensor with something aftermarket that could fit 1/8 npt?

I have no idea if there is another fitting that would electronically be compatible, but most of the adapters have the correct fitting. I've used DRM's and LG's and they work fine (although it is always a tight fit)

I went with the improved racing with the integrated thermostat that fits great except for the sensor. It has a 1/8" ntp but that doesn't fit the stock sensor. Might have to rig something up if nothing else is compatible.

i think you'd sacrifice accuracy to do it that way. the adapter likely exists, but the sensor wouldn't be directly exposed to the flow. i could be splitting hairs here though.

If you want an adapter threaded for the stock sensor, I have an ECS adapter for sale that will work.
You are basically out of luck if you want to use the OEM sender on anything. It is nearly impossible to find any adapter (other than a weld fitting, and that is really hard to find) that works with an M10 x 1.5. About the only place you could add it externally would be to a remote oil cooler adapter with either (i) spare ports that could be drilled/tapped appropriately or (ii) a gauge fitting that could accept being hogged out (i.e. drilled and tapped) and still function with the large OEM sensor mounted.
