Default Kart racing last night in Mooresville...

I went to a big time kart race at the new Motorplex in Mooresville, NC last night. The prize was $5,000, and that brings in some participants. Big name guys racing, Jamie McMurray, Colin Braun, Denny Hamlin, and many others. And a girl beat them! Ashley Rogero is a name to watch.

She drove the wheels off that thing. It was enjoyable to watch....until the bottom dropped out of the clouds and it rained like crazy.

Amazingly, the Race Monitor phone app worked on this race so I could keep up with who was where and what was going on.

It's probably the only time when you see a helicopter land at a kart race and let a participant out.

Default Kart

That's awesome to hear, I heard good things about that place. A bunch of friends of mine from Hendrick Motorsports were there a couple days ago and loved it.

And no invite? I thought we were friends and neighbors.

Sorry Kevin. I didn't decide to go until 5:30 and I didn't think anyone would be interested in going to see a kart race.

I'll call you next time I hear of a big one there.

Ashley (age 15) started 5th, and was in the lead by lap 5. I wish the rain would have held off.
