Default Caliper pin dust cover needed?

I lost 25% of one this past weekend at the track. I guess it melted ? Is it highly recommended to keep these in good shape? Anyone know the part number?

Thanks,
Chris

The boot keeps gunk from entering the hole in the abutment bracket where the caliper pin slides and keeps the grease in.

The boot covers are a generic type for many GM calipers; both Corvette and non-Corvette applications. Try p/n 12530703 (kit) or 12530706 (boot only).

I always ck & replace those, napa probably has them. I don't replace the piston boot any more.

They hold up somewhat longer than the piston one.

You really do need to keep a good set of rubber boots on the slider pins. If gone, it will allow dust and grit to get into the lubricant causing a possible frozen slider. Frozen slider = badly tapered pads = waste of $. They are cheap and easy to replace.
