Default Question about Autocrossing

I autocross my car about 7-9 times a year. Is it worth putting Mobil One Full Synthetic 15w-50 in the car. I have a 2011 Grand Sport.
Also what is the best power steering fluid to use. Is there one better than the other for autocrossing? I have 11000 miles on the car.
Thanks for your time. Shannon

Too heavy for autox. Stick with factory recommend weight. Autox does not stress the oil that much.

I do like Redline P/S fluid or Redline D4atf in the steering system. Tranny too if it's a stick.

Unless the owner's manual calls for a different weight of oil for that type of use, I would stick with whatever the factory fill is. With the low miles and the car still under warranty, if you should ever have an engine issue that you would expect to be fixed under warranty, you may run into trouble if the dealership does an oil analysis as part of the repair. The area Chevy dealers do run those tests.

As far as a PS fluid, I have run Redline synthetic fluid in my '87 for 3 autocross seasons now along with 3-4 track days per year. I still have the original pump in the car. It used to whine badly with the stock-style fluid and the Redline stuff stopped it. I did add a small cooler so that was also an improvement.

You can stick with 5w30 synthetic oil. The only other option that is marginally better would be some 0w40, but if you don't see the track, 5w30 is great for autocross. Want a different oil that's better? Go for 0w30.
