Default For Sale -- C5R full prepped race car

UPDATE: Payment has been made and the car is sold. Thank you all for looking and the well wishes. Mods, I have had plenty of requests to keep the thread open for educational purposes. Thank you.

For Sale: 2002 C5 Race Car:

Price: $95,000

I'm no producer but did my best with the help of a friend (Short-Throw) to capture all the major aspects of the car shown in the video below.

Why the build?

I attended a driving school and was smitten by the adrenaline rush, no surprise right? At the time I owned an 800HP+ supercharged C5 that owned the streets. I joined Autobahn Country Club and learned quickly that a Normally Aspirated engine was much better and more reliable than my street monster. More importantly being a novice to the sport I was fortunate to have many members welcome and teach me the most important part of the sport was safety. It didn't me long to decide that I needed to be in a caged car built by a trusted fabricator right away.

Why this car?

I have been a car nut and Corvette fan as a youngster and love the wide stance of the C5.
I purchased a 2002 Red C5 Z06 as a donor to the project. The car was stripped down to the frame rails and built back up. Being a fairly tall person, the A and B pillars were removed which allowed plenty of headroom with a helmet on. This car will easily accommodate a tall person. After watching a friend build a C6.R with high quality parts I decided to follow suit.

Who built the car and why did I choose them?

The car was built entirely by Eurosport Racing. Eurosport Racing has been building race cars for over 30 years. Eurosport has a full service facility located at Autobahn Country Club. This was ideal as once I completed my due diligence on their safety record and history; they were a shop on site that could service the car regularly, normally a hassle for maintaining race cars. The build took 2 months and no real budget was established as I didn't want to cut any corners midway through the project. As you will see in the inventory of parts itemized, high end materials were used.

Describe the use of the car:

The car was built and intended to be used strictly as a local club member HPDE car. To this day, the car never left the Autobahn Country Club facility (except to get painted).
Being a novice, the car initially was far more than I could handle and I worked with instructors on a regular basis ramping up my skills. The car is capable of putting down some of the best times to date for a closed wheel car (with a real driver, not me) at the Club to this day. A former driving pro (Kevin Krauss) put down a 1:01 with Hoosiers on the Autobahn North Track which is faster than a Porsche Cup car.

Why am I selling?

I have been spending all my free time training for various events that consist of competitive cycling. I also donate time for philanthropic photography work.
Balancing these time consuming hobbies while attempting to be a good father/husband doesn't allow for much more in a 24 day. The past year I have not driven the car (it’s still regularly maintained by Eurosport) and although thought about it several times on and off, have finally decided to sell it.

What a prospective buyer can expect:

To be dealt with honestly and fairly. Upon payment as a final contingency of ownership, I can arrange for a ride-a-long at Autobahn Country Club with one of our track pros (Tony Kester) to demonstrate how safe, stable and quick this car is.

Anyone looking to become a member of Autobahn Country Club can discuss purchasing my membership and/or garage space ownership with the car for a discounted package deal.

Gang,

I can personally vouch for the high end details that went into this car's build as I saw and helped throughout the entire process. After I finished building my C6R (The Beast), I shared much of what I learned with Tom. He followed suit with items like an extremely sound structural cage (the single most important part of a race car), Brembo GTR brakes (with their signature gold colored calipers) and a MoTec ECU.

I've driven this car on track and the power band comes on so smooth it's really deceiving how quick it is. It's planted in the corners staying relatively flat and the shifter mounted rev blip offers fantastic rev matching ease.

As Tony Kester mentions in the video, it's the best he's driven and anybody that knows Tony understands he would never say such words if they weren't true.

I'm happy to talk with anybody about the car as a reference. I also vouch for Tom himself being an honest guy who has priced the car fairly (add up the component's worth alone).

Here's a pic of the two fastest Corvettes among Autobahn members.

The answer is yes if properly built, maintained, and driven, but do you really think that is an appropriate question to ask in the poster's "For Sale" thread?

I'm not sure what you're experiences have been, but the answer to your question is absolutely especially since that was part of the engine's design from the onset.

MAX HP was not a desired target for this engine, longevity was.

This engine is built with a Daley dry sump (massive 1.25 oil lines) running through two external oil coolers, plus a Ron Davis radiator supplied with a wind tunnel intake and louvered hood for great ventilation. The engine temps have ranged between 180-200 when pushing the car as the engine has been detuned and is capable of producing much more HP.

Additionally the MoTec engine management software allows much greater control over the tuning of the engine. We can vary the air/fuel mixture across various rpm and throttle settings. The engine mapping for the MoTec was done over a 2 day period on an engine dyno. The MoTec software also is programmed to rev limit the shift points so the engine stays cool.

The sway bars were custom made for this car by Eurosport. We looked at a few aftermarket pieces and didn't find anything 'big' enough that offered the desired adjustability. Whenever the car is up on the rack the sway bars grab most onlookers attention, they are quite meaty.

Thanks Alex!

We weighed the car empty when it was first built (without a passenger seat) and it came in at 2976lbs.

Add fuel (roughly 7lbs/gallon) and driver ballast for a total.
