Default Corvette GTP price ?

My crew chief tells me last GTPs sold between $200-250k

So far I found 1 asking $495 & another @ $600k

That's quite a leap. Any clue where they should be ?

Is the massive increase due to Corvette anniversary this year or the collapsing $USD ?

I don't think it has anything to do with the Corvettes 60th anniversary, or the economy.

A brand new roller from Riley, with their body, goes for $445,000. I'm sure that the Corvette body, adds cost to the basic Riley. Add a competitive race engine, data and fuel system, and your easily looking at $500,000.

You may find an older, un-competitive, GTP for $200K-250K, but I doubt you could touch a current Corvette GTP for that kind of money.

You can check out the spec sheet, and price, on a new Riley at the link below.

If you don't care about a non original GTP, Mongoose makes a awesome replica of them with C5/C6 suspension and a LS7.

I am not an employee, but know Gary the owner and I race/test the GTP's & Grand Sport Replicas pictured on their website for them. BTW, they can be made street legal friendly or all out track, your choice.

Give him a call!

$500K - $600K ..... Just think ... for the price of a GTP you could buy a new home, send the kids through college and take a very nice 2 week trip to Europe ... all about priorities.

Are you talking about IMSA GTPs from the 80s or the current Grand AM DPs? I don't think the current Grand AM DPs have GTP anywhere in their name.

Is your crew chief talking about the same?

Have a Superlight built with an LS7 in it.

You could buy a street and track version and spares, tires, truck and trailer for the cost of a GTP.

Yes but a GTP will always be a GTP which makes it very special, historic, & a great investment

The Superlite is a very cool car but it cannot hold a candle to a GTP re history or investment value

I would guess you would need north of $750 to get an original GTP Corvette and that will go over a million + very shorty, these are the ultimate corvettes. 7 built but 2 destroyed but being rebuilt as I understand so only 5 true original left. Saw one at Monterey this summer, wow what a car.

Maybe in Florida. Here in CA you can get a condo or possibly a starter home in some of the less expensive areas

Default Investment

The GTP looks like a good investment at 500 to 600K as they will go over a million in short order. Just think a L88 at 3.4M and they made 120 ok them. Grand Sports go in the millions. The GTP is king of the castle.....no question.

Welcome to the new world of pricing. It's crazy and there is no sign it's going to slow down. We have all the auctions coming up in Scottsdale and then we have Amelia. I can't imagine what the prices will be by the time we get to Amelia.

The big dollar cars will be sold by Gooding and RM. B-J is the Walmart of collector cars. I look for a further decline in the muscle car market. The good stuff is going up by several million a year now.

Saw it several times in person at Miami GP and WPB when I was with Fittipaldi. Looking for my pics there.... I was there at the Glen too. What an awesome car to watch ...the 1000bhp was no joke, the March /Buick IMSA GTP cars were in that power range too. Hopefully I'll see it at Homestead. Nice job !!

Priorities schmyorities... You can sleep in your race car, but you can't race your house.
