Default NT01's Now Avail in 305/35/18 !

For those looking to manage Front to Rear diameter's for their C5Z's, NT01's now have a 305/35/18 size that compliments the already available 275/40/17 fronts.

I placed an order today and was told they will be at my installers in 3 business days.

The were comparably priced to the R888's and rII Extremes in the same size.

Hope this helps folks who are looking for an alternative to the R888's as I was.

Have you ever thought about running used race slicks? They are a lot cheaper. This is coming from a guy who ran Nitto NT555 RII's for 14 events.

I am sure it would be cheaper, but other things I consider.

- In the California Corvette Challenge, anything lower than a 100 tread-ware will bump my stock C5Z up a class. To then be competitive, I would need to add other mods (power, suspension)

- I drive between 100 & 300 miles to events and am not looking to trailer. Although not great, the NT01's and others let me get through the occasional rain showers.

- I try to reduce the amount of times I need to mount and change tires. I can get approx 7 HPDE days from a 100 tread-ware tire (rII's, 888's,etc). If I had an in for easy tire swaps, then I may change my approach.

Can you share what the cost is on a set of used race tires and how many days / sessions you get from them ?

Makes sense. I only do DE's so it's a no brainer for me. They are certainly less than 100 treadwear.

Have you considered towing a trailer? I used to drive to and front events on my Nitto's. I much prefer this.

I was getting around 5-6 days on my rear tires and 8 on the front. Based on current wear I'll probably get 4 days out of my rears, not sure about the fronts but I'll probably change them to with the cost. The tires are $100 each, plus $100 shipping so $500 versus $1230.

I use my local Discount Tire so much they often mount and dismount for free for me.

I regularly drive 100 to 200 miles as well. It's nice getting to the track, unloading my ez-up, tools, jack, 5 gallon jug, food/drink, etc, then keeping up with or passing high-end trailered cars and being able to drive home at 80mph.
