Default Cam recomedations

Looking for some recomendations for a cam. want a street warrior that will see occasional track use (hopefully more in the near future). Has to have very good street manners and preferably a mild lope.

No better person to ask then Brian about a matching road race cam.

just keep the lift under .600 for high rpm reliability.

There are a few others with his breadth (yet brevity) of LS knowledge, but Brian Tooley has all the latest dirt on what works with commonly available valvetrain weights and components. He's a good guy and will lead you down the right path. Your choice of local tuner will play a part in it because you can't put them outside the box and expect them to deal with the repercussions.

I have a baby Texas Speed cam and it's working well in my stock ls3 with dry sump, z06 intake, and LG super pro headers, 446rwhp and 428tq. 218/218 and .598/.598 lift roughly. Should be making more now with lightweight clutch.

Food for thought, but if we are doing the tuning it might be a good idea to consider one of our grinds... Give me a call or shoot me a PM to discuss if we can help you out.

In my LS3 I really like the comp cam 54-000-11 which is 223/231/115 lift .610/.617
the car drives like stock and pulls from idle to 7k made 465 rwhp and 408 tq on a mustang dyno. I did have a Vengeance racing cam in it before. It was their older stage III ls3 cam ( which was like a 239/247 cam 113 ls) the cam made slightly more HP but less tq. it was awe full to drive and impossible to autox, it was a good drag cam.
vengeance has changed their cam profiles and they have been very helpfull when I contacted them about the cam. The cam I had from them was just the wrong tool for the job.
