I have one with a fresh rebuild not even used yet, decided to go with a Quaife with a driven cooler. It's out of a 2001 Z06

Scott, do you know how many miles are on it? I'm primarily interested in a 3 rib, but may go to you if no cost effective options are found.

Car had 130k miles when it was removed, but I have no idea if it was original to that car. It worked fine before I swapped it.

In your opinion, do you think a single rib diff will hold up for a track only car? Another option would be if my 3 rib case is still intact, maybe I could swap the guts...

Don't know yet. Fluid burnt as h3ll, blew out right half shaft seal. Small amount of "glitter" in fluid but no metal shavings. Melted plastic clumps in fluid. Spins freely, drives ok in straight line but not when turning. I will have it out tomorrow and take off side covers.

Got the diff out this morning. Pinion gear looks ok, but material that looks similar to clumps of thick black hair was in the bottom of the casing. Could this be clutch material? No metal shavings or broken parts found. Speed sensor was completely melted and fluid spewed out of that hole as well.

Somehow my photo bucket account got locked out, but I will try to post pics later.

Can anybody tell me what this is? After speaking with a couple forum Diff builders, our best guess is that it's part of the plastic speed sensor housing.
