Michelin Super Sports for rd race/street?
I am trying to make my mind up in regards to what tire to get. I have an 05 with the Z-51 that is literally BONE stock to the air filter.
The car is 99% street driven but will see probably 3-4 track events a year (road course). The car still has the o.e. goodyears (25000 miles), but to be honest I think the tires are decent but not amazing.
Is the Michelin Super Sport the one to go with or are there others?
Like to hear the comments from the guys who road race. The 3-4 track days will just be for fun, but I do want the car to grip and do well for what it is!
Thanks guys!!

Melting Slicks
They are amazing! I have had mine on for 8 track days, some running double duty, and they still have more than half the tread, and I drive very hard. They are not as grippy as R-comps, but IMO they are just as good as the Pilot Sport Cup tires, and they wear like iron.

We have them on the '08 Z06 my wife drives on the track and she's loving them, very sticky. I think you will probably need to consider heat-cycles more than tread. Most of the tires we use up are just cycled out and won't soften up any more, they still have tread on them for street use but you just slide around on track. Hard to gives specifics but you just kinda know when that happens.
