Default APR studs with SKF bearings

Are the studs a recommended upgrade when going with the bearings?
Car is dual purpose but I see R-compounds in the near future.

If you try different wheels in the future you may find a spacer is needed, also. You will be glad you upgraded to the longer studs. There are many good reasons to go ARP.

I may need to replace my wheel bearings due to a clicking noise I keep getting on high load turns - does anyone know who has the lowest cost on these with the arp studs installed into the units?

thanks!

I got mine from Gary at Hardbar. Seemed to have the best price with shipping.

ABSOLUTELY !! If you are going to the expense of installing the SKF hubs, you should install the ARP studs as well. Not that much more $ but the peace of mind is priceless. If you have ever broken a stud, you will know what I mean. The ARP are longer so you can use a spacer in the future if necessary for a BBK or bifferent wheels. I pressed the studs in myself so I can't tell you who has the least expensive combo for sale - Check Hardbar and Phoenix.

100-7708 is the ARP part number for a 2.5" stud
100-7713 for the 3.25" stud
Here is a link to the 2.5" studs from JEGS with free shipping.
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...hTerm=100-7708

I use the 2.5" studs on my C6Z06 with open ended steel lug nuts from NAPA (napa part number is 641-2141).

Unfortunately no, all four hubs had to come out. I removed the upper control arm and the steering knuckle as one piece and did the rest on the bench. You can get the stock studs out on the car but you can't get the longer ARP ones in. It turned out to be a bigger job than expected.

with all that has been said.

Some other reasons to replace OEM with ARP studs -- especially if you drive your car to events and change to track tires -- they stand up much better to the many, many times we mount, demount and torque track and street tires. Also, if you use open lug nuts you can tell at a glance as you do a pre-session car walk around if you forgot to torque one.

I also have a video of the rear WITH bearing removal. WITHOUT removal (rear) is possible only by drilling the backing plate.

How about open ended lug nut recommendations? I ASSume the longer studs require them.

Open ended steel lug nuts from NAPA is what I use. Couldn't use the stock ones because they would bottom out on my car. Part number is 641-2141.

Here's the ones I use.

$25 for 20 They have more thread engagment than a standard lugnut due to being ET style.

Are the arp still a 12x1.5 thread?

Also - has anyone else noticed that the napa oreilly and autozone websites all have the wrong lugnut sizes for our cars?
