I see that Red Bull was fined 30k Euros for the unsafe release. THAT will teach them! That amount of money could really put a dent in their take-a-penny dish

I watched that then re-watched it again a few times since I was recording it. I thought for sure he would have had some fractured vertebrae and had a good chance to be a paraplegic after that. Glad to here a clavicle and a few rib fractures. He'll be sore, but he'll be alright if that's all he had.

The cars are required to have 1 liter of fuel left for testing so he must have know if he kept going he was going to be short.

Alonso: "At the end, we stopped because we wanted to make sure that we had the fuel needed for the regulation [sample]," said Domenicali.

Kimi tends to be more of a gentleman driver than some when he knows he really can't hold back the gang behind him. On the other hand, if it was the last lap, and he was in the lead, and Vettel was nipping at his ***, I'll bet he could (and would) be a real a-hole about it

I think it would have, and I would have gambled it. The Lotus had great tire wear. He came in for the last stop on lap 50 of 60, and had a 13.8 sec lead at the time. Even if he gave up 1 sec/lap in the last 10, he would have had him. And catching and passing are two different things.
You already had a team car that was running 2nd, go for it.
