Default C7 video test reviews are out

This is going to be an AWESOME track car. Buy Z51, comp seats, and the Mag suspension package. Do brake fluid, alignment, harnesses, and a sticky tire package and you'll put the hurt on pretty much any other stock or near stock car on the market.

Impressive...1.11G with run flats.

Should be interesting to see what it can do with really good rubber on it.

I wonder how long until they take it for some laps around the 'Ring?

The DI added 35ish pounds of content. Then they had to add a bigger balancer, dual-mass flywheel, and a steel torque-tube to handle driveline harmonics in V4 mode. Then you've got the standard coolers, bigger brakes, and stronger trans/diff to deal with the mid-range torque hit not to mention the e-dif gear. Not hard to see why the car got heaver even with the aluminum chassis and lighter body panels. In one of the articles Tadge said, "It'd be easy to make the car light if we weren't concerned about fuel economy". That seems backward until you look at the numbers the car puts up... it's quite incredible. This is a car that you will be able to daily drive, road trip getting mid 30s, and tear around a track. The new tech has truly widened the performance envelope of these cars.

I am going to have a really hard time picking between a c6z and this unless the c6z prices really drop once these are all over the show rooms.

Good post.

Also, this model that weighs 3,444lb is the 3LT with heated/cooled power seats and all kinds of gizmos in the interior. I bet a 1LT would be substantially lighter, plus I hope the comp seats take some weight out too.

Good post.

With the current capabilities of the C7...then add the Z06 package next year (rumored 600+ NA HP), you'll wonder why you ever thought about a C6Z...unless you can steal it from the dealership for well under invoice.

I have to shop the used market to be driving any of these great cars, so I'll be looking for a used c6z in the high 30's maybe to compare to the c7.

If the used c6z's get there then I guess I'll "settle" for the older technology.

I gotta say bravo to GM on this & the styling is starting to grow on me. The front clip shots on the video are really very good.

~3150 lbs vs 3444 makes up for a lot of wizardry.

I am puzzled that a journalist driver could beat the launch control apparently with ease.

They must have "played it safe" on that program.

I have to agree with him on the paddles for turning on/off rev matching. Why hang them off the wheel like shift paddles? There a reason for that?

So they could simplify production and only make one column setup. They're the shift paddles for the auto and control the rev matching on/off in the manual.

Plus, if the car ever gets a dual-clutch setup they'll already have that part done and in place.

That white looks awesome!!!! Not a fan of the center dash transition to the steering/driver control panel. Looks like it needs more separation to me.

Here's to hoping this motor is more LS6 reliable than LS3.

There's a video of them dynotesting the drysump LS1 on this crazy tilt stand... I too hope they've learned their lessons with the LS2/3/7 issues.

Anyone know it this was/can be programmed to simulate actual laps on real tracks? Or is it just random tilts and such.

I would hope they simulated some of the "problem tracks" which you guys have discovered thru actual (engine failure) experience.

I appreciate the effort, but there is a difference between a tilt and actually pulling g's in so far as what the oil does. Yes?
