Switches at the top and bottom of the clutch pedal, what do they do?
I'm making up a pedal stop for my clutch. At the bottom of the clutch travel is a stop with a switch in it and a plug. Same at the top of travel. What are these switches, and does the car need them to start/run?
Thanks

Yes. The lower switch when pressed tells the computer the car is in neutral and will allow the car to crank. The upper switch is a cruise kill switch. If you have cruise engaged and try to shift gears, It will detect the clutch pedal has been pushed and it will disengage the cruise feature. The lower switch has to be utilized. The top one doesn't. Unless, you want cruise control.

If you have a cage now, dump the clutch start switch. While in the paddock, you'll want to be able to reach in and just fire it up without climbing in and pressing the clutch in every time you want to warm it up or check on something under the hood.
Just have to remember to check to make sure it's in neutral
