Default Bondurant School @ CotA

Learn Advanced Road Racing on
America's Only Formula 1™ Track!

Former Formula 1™ driver and World Champion, Bob Bondurant, is bringing the Bondurant Advanced Driving Program to Circuit of The Americas in October! These two-day programs will take place October 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6.

Experience the HIGHEST level of track instruction from Bondurant's professional instructors with 2013 6-speed manual Corvettes. Program spots are $9,750. Don't miss this incredible opportunity to perfect your racing skills at our world class facility!

It's $4k for their 2-day advanced road race class...so I'm wondering what is worth the extra $5,750?

The track is "advertised" at $50k/day.

With a maximum of 35 cars on track...that comes out to $1,438/ea. per day.

So again...where is the value?

The "track rental" and the Bondurant class together come out to ~$6,856...what would I get for roughly $3k over that? The "CotA Experience"? You already pay through the nose for that with the rental fee.

Something isn't adding up...

I got that email as well today. I went to check out the details (not that I was actually thinking about dropping almost 10 grand) and you have to have completely a previous race school or advanced school with them (I forget the exact wording they used) or hold a current racing license to participate in this event.

$100K to rent the track for 2 days and the expense of toting all the school cars and staff to Austin is what I suspect drives the price up another $6K.

It will be interesting to see if the blush comes off the COTA rose. I was fortunate enough to drive it twice this year, in a DE and race, neither of which are likely to happen in 2014 due to increased costs. I wonder if there are enough folks willing to pay the minimym $2500 per day to drive on track (basic rental for one day with 25-car limit).

Still nonsensical.

If you live near Austin and want to run your car, and happen to have the money to burn on a $6k HPDE, you don't need them to come to you- as you can much more easily just go to them for substantially less.

Right now COTA is milking the F1 circuit exclusivity to really jack prices for track events. I'd be curious what it costs to do track days or rentals at Silverstone, Spa, Suzuka, etc in comparison.

But there are PLENTY of rich folks with money to burn for the "experience."

Ditto. Not to mention we could go in and rent the track ourselves for 50k between 20 or so of us and have it to ourselves for a fraction of the cost.

Sounds like Mr. Bondurant is doing well for himself.

I've done the 2 day (non advanced class) and it was awesome...I think in the advanced course you are one on one with the instructiors all day both days...that would be a difference...not sure if its worth it or not.

You could buy a membership at MSR with dues, garage rental and plenty of track time for a year or more.

I took the 3 day advanced 3 years ago at around $3K, IIRC. It was at their home track in Az. I suppose at some point they will price themselves out of the market.
