Default Can't wait for Grattan Track Day Aug 31st

Going with 3ballsracing to grattan this weekend.

freekin' out though with lots of stuff that needs to be done before I go..

Borrowing new (to me) trailer, therefore I need to install a new brake controller in the truck. (in the past I used a mechanical hitch brake system)

change out pads, switch out last years DOT4 fluid, oil change, clutch fluid swap, pack up my sh_t, etc, etc.

used to be easy to get ready but with two kids and a real job....its just seems like there's always a last minute rush.

Can't wait though....first track of the year. Just got a late start this season. Next year, I'll put my track days on a calendar early so they don't get pushed to the end of summer.

Anyone else headed there from the forum?

Yup. I'll be there instructing on Saturday. My car is the yellow C5Z usually parked near or just to the right of the tech shed. (I'm Matt, we met at a couple of Ken Smith's events.)

There's actually going to be a few forum members there who are new to the track, in addition to our usual cast of characters.

bb69 is HeadBall (the "owner" of 3Balls), AddictedToTrack, ArmyCop, ScaryFast, SpectatorRacing, lbk16, yyz06, possibly L98Terror, Ylwfvr75, RoadWarrior, Striller, Ed Thrasher, minitech, Greg and Em, and that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Somehow, it's all come together, trailer brakes work well, car is ready and I've done my shake down runs and tech sheets. I just need to load her up and head for Grand Rapids.
Smooth sailing from here on out!

Sounds good. My truck and trailer are loaded and at the departure point.

We are getting together at 57 Brewpub tonight for some grub and beer. Tomorrow will be Grattan Irish Pub.

See you at the track.

Ken where's 57 Brewpub?

Found a leaking piston seal on black beauty Wednesday night so I guess I'm bringing 'ol blue. Too bad it only has street pads, most likely I will go off at every braking zone. Matt I will follow you and use your bumper as a supplemental brake

I'll be on street brakes too so we're going off together.

(I believe that I have a set of DTC60s with a few sessions left on them if you need pads.)

Here is the address:

I'm planning to win the race to irresponsibility so I don't have to drive.

Ken loaned me some pads from the yellow car. If I get motivated I may install them. But they have about 3 mm of material left...

Yep, I'll be there instructing (and staying out of Matt's and Jon's way as they go sliding by ) both Saturday and Sunday. I'm usually parked by the tech shed near Ken's gray trailer.

Damn, I never knew there was a brewpub in Greenville. And as many times as I've stayed there too...

Fantastic event 3balls! Lots of cars but still plenty of run time. Everyone was very nice and it was a great event. Thx to Matt, scooter70, for the pointers. It really helped my times/confidence.

Looking forward to mid o in a few weeks.

Glad I could help Neil. Grattan is a really fun track once you "get it". There are a few tricks here and there that definitely make it flow smoother.
