NCM Motorsports Park Update #8 - 8/31/13
It was a great week-end at the National Corvette Museum.
First, three new members were inducted into the NCM Hall of Fame, including Johnny O'Connell (racing), Wil Cooksey (GM) and Warner Meier (enthusiast). The HOF banquet was great and well attended, including Doug Fehan, Gary Pratt, Andy Pilgrim and Bob Bondurant.
They all toured the Motorsports Park site, and were very impressed.
Second, we celebrated the NCM's 19th anniversary and held the Lifetime Member Banquet.
Third, the NCM sold 12 acres in three days, and now...
only 6 acres remaining!
Last, the Motorsports Park project is cruising along at full speed. The grading is approximately 60% complete, and the weather has been very kind for the excavating equipment. There is an intense analysis and review of the plans by everyone involved, including the track designer, Pratt and Miller engineers, the local engineering firm, and two advisory committees from NCM staff and an external committee.
The NCM has been interviewing candidates for the full time General Manager / CEO of the track, and it is hoped there will be someone in place in the next 4-6 weeks.
Here is the most recent aerial shot, and a couple of bonus pics. Enjoy!

I wonder what the green dump truck is helping to construct in front of the big sign in photo #2.
I think I see my new C7 in photo #3. It's one of the yellow ones.
