Daytona events this fall 2013
If you want to run the Rolex 24 track here at Daytona, there are usually about 4 track day events each fall, but this year there are only 2 that I know of. PBOC usually runs one, but I can't find any reference to one by them this year.
Also, don't forget about the Rolex 24 that will be January 25-26, 2014.
Actually it's a solid 4 day event with the practicing/qualifying and the "Roar before the 24", and on Friday there's the Conti Challenge race - I really enjoy wandering around the garage area and pits all day Friday, including during the race.
For the last 5 years or so we've been having a forum get-together at a local restaurant Friday evening (Jan 24th), so everybody that will be here for the Rolex 24, keep watching for a thread about it!!
C'ya here in Daytona running the track or watching the Rolex!!

- PCA has one Oct 4-6:

That link may not work if you're not signed in, so just go to http://www.clubregistration.net to get info.
The PCA events are only for experienced track drivers.
- However, there's one December 6-7 for everybody - including first time novice track drivers.
It's put on by an Audi club, but also co-sponsored by the forum's very own Henry Gilbert's Performance Driving Group - go to his site below and click on "Events":

Bob, as usual I will be at the Audi event again!
The is also a HSR Historic Sports Car Racing on November 15-17th. There should be several hundred vintage race cars there including corvettes. I will be running my Panoz GTP there.

I also plan to be a spectator at the 24 this year. I have friends coming down from up north for that one.
See you soon!

I was there last year (working at the track! ) and those guys looked like they had a heck of a lot of fun. Looked like there was more than one car/driver that was getting a bit of extra practice in before the Rolex race. Like the Audi R8 that was clearly a race car.

Yep thats the one. That car is an icon now, of course a buddy of mine had to poke me about the Corvette that oiled "his" event.
Have an email in to Henry asking about run group classification, and if I should run PBIR with them first as they are about the only Org. in FL that I dont have a solo sign off with.
Scrubs or PSS?

I've heard it's something like $30,000 per day for the sponsoring organizations to rent the track.
So....we pay $450 for one day, $850 for two days, or $1,200 for three days.
No reduced price available anywhere that I know of.

I've got 425 miles on the new engine. I'm going to get about 500 on it, do an oil change, and it will be ready to rock-n-roll in about 10 days.
I'm registered with Henry's Performance Driving Group, so I'll be in the "Yellow Garage" area.
Anybody who registered with the Audi club will probably be in the "Blue Garages".
C'ya soon!!!

Safety Car
I was hoping to go but a leaking rear main seal slowed my track time down. But thought I might still might squeeze it in, but now a flukey back injury at a water park has parked me for the next month. Can't even drive my car now. I am guessing I am just not supposed to go this year.:bang head:
Have fun and be safe.
