Default 2013 SCCA Miata Runoff race -- share your thoughts!

I know a lot of racers here like myself have a Miata as an affordable venue to compete and they are great fun.

Who watched the Miata 75-car Runoff race?

I'll refrain from spoiler comments right now, but holy cow, what a race.

Comments?

That was a heck of a race! Yes some carnage but it was very well run an I thought fairly clean considering the group and the amount of cars! Fun as heck to watch. What happened to gorriaran?

They will post on demand replay in the next few days here:

http://www.speedcasttv.com/scca/

I think cars like the Miata are great fun, cheap, and a great way to learn. I ran my MR2 at Road America with 73 other cars in a ChumpCar event earlier this year, it was a blast! Almost as much chaos as the spec Miata race, except you do it for 14 hours! I'm doing it again in 4 weeks at Road America.

The end of T2 was insane. Two vettes went side by side and collided at the finish for 3rd.

Crazy, great race but I would not want to be involved, racing side by side through waving yellow and by workers, insane.

I didn't check, but ant DQs for all that?

The T1 race starts in 30 minutes.

Wow! I watched the Speckled Meotter race, and that was crazy.

I would DQ a lot of the field because of the way they were driving & passing around the yellow flags with the safety vehicles. That was crazy and dangerous.

The driver of that white miata that was track left and intentionally drove into the side of the yellow car (mid track) that then hit the front runner and pushed him into the guard rail at the Corvette bridge needs his *** kicked. By getting pissed with one driver his intentional retribution wrecked an innocent car.

I watched the T2 race and the finish for 3rd place was as drama filled as any soap opera you could find. That was unbelievable!

Watch the 3rd Place Finish of the T2 Runoffs Race - Spectacular
Go to minute 4:51.30 and watch the battle for the last few turns of the T2 race. See how they cross the finish line. It is definitely worth watching.

The whole race was a good race.

Yep, that was a helluva race. The end was spectacular. I was wondering if anyone was DQ'd because of it, but it doesn't look like anyone was. That was some hard racing.

I couldn't believe no one was not DQ'd in the Spec Miata race. From what I saw on the results page, it doesn't look like any was.

Tom Sloe got DQ'd for two infractions. I forget the numbers, but one was for "unsportsmanlike conduct" and the other was for not leaving "racing room."

That is one hell of a way to finish a race for Matt Pulano, huh!

Yep, that was a memorable finish. He can talk about that for years and years. Reminds me of the Donnie Allison win at Charlotte or the Terry LaBonte win at Bristol.
