I'm late to the party here, but I appreciate the write-up.
I obviously have not done such extensive research (hell, I haven't even bought a C7 yet), but I've always felt like the brakes even on the Z51 would not be adequate for hard tracking, even if you did not upgrade your tires. I've been going by only pretty shallow metrics, but 13.6" rotors on a 460-hp car weighing ~3400+ lbs just doesn't seem like it's gonna cut it. It seems like this confirms some of my suspicions.
