Default Researching 1965 Race Car

I am interested in finding out more info on this 1965 race car which is being sold at auction in January 2014. Any info regarding previous owners, or drivers would be greatly appreciated.

A quick Google of "Corvette cars & parts magazine" turned up this:

You might be interested in this car if it's still available. I have seen it in person and it looks GREAT!

Have not looked to see if it is there, but check the Registry of Corvette Race Cars.

That might be Bob Kerns' old car. Raced around the Midwest. Last I knew Bob was in the Scottsdale area.

Given the price this car is going to bring you want provenance. You can create one of these for about $100,000 and change. You need a documented history once you get above that price.

The market is full of fakes. Really good fakes. A friend of mine at the FIA in Europe thinks about 60% of the vintage race cars around the world are really modern creations.

One of the cars I owned had a new history created for it. It was just a basic F3 car. Today it's a prized F2 car with a great history. The current owner actually believes that.

It's all about having a fully documented history back to day one.
