Default FS - Alcon Racing Mono Block Front Brakes 6 piston 365mm- like new only 4 laps!

Put these on for GT2 to avoid a weight penalty with our big Brembo's. I only had 4 laps with these at Road America in the wet, so they are essentially brand new. We put the Brembo's back when we sold the car, so they matched what we had on the back. These are extremely high quality brakes - better constructed then our Brembo's GT's.

new price 1/12 $3000 shipped which includes the Alcon pads and a set of Hawk's brand new in the box. DTC-70's

Some more info.

Advantage Extreme Corvette C5 C6 (97 on) 6 Piston 365mm x 32mm Front Big Brake Kit

(note: includes no brake lines)

From Alcon

Stopping when you want to - and more importantly when and where you need to - is a fundamental requirement of attaining speed. Alcon's Advantage Extreme brake kits have been designed to do just that. The Advantage Extreme brake kits provide ultimate braking performance in a direct replacement package. Alcon has now applied its expertise and experience in IndyCar, WRC, NASCAR and GT racing to the performance braking market.

•Special alloy disc and bell assembly 365mm x 32mm
•Monobloc 6 Piston Caliper
•Alcon brake pads
•Brackets and hardware

No additional parts are required to fit an Advantage Extreme kit to your car!

DISCS

Advantage Extreme discs have been engineered to produce optimum bite, thermal stability and durability in an exceptionally high strength to low weight design. This has been achieved by combining a special Alcon developed iron alloy disc with an aerospace specification alloy bell.

Other Alcon disc benefits include:
- Unique crescent grooves on friction faces provide the bite usually associated with drilled discs without the attendant durability problems.
- Directionally curved cooling vanes for optimum cooling performance
- Alcon's floating disc system (as used in the majority of applications) has been designed to allow thermal expansion of the disc throughout it's life while minimizing the tendency to shudder.

Alcon PADS
These low noise pads offer strong cold perofrmance for start up and city driving and are formulated for excellent resistance to face at higher temperatures.

CALIPERS
Advantage Extreme calipers are gravity die cast monobloc constructions using aluminum alloy for optimal strength and weight.

The calipers feature
- Monobloc 6 piston design for high stiffness and low weight
- Piston bore sizes are staggered to ensure even pad wear
- Pin mounted pads provide low threshold pressure and low noise

Default Pads

How thick are the pads and do you know how much replacement pads cost for these?

Thanks

Hi the replacement Hawks are $378 at Summit, maybe cheaper else where.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hwk-hb122u-710

OG - states is the same pads that are used in the Stoptech ST60's and also the AP brakes.
http://www.ogracing.com/hawk-hb122u-...tc-70-compound

Can't find the thickness. Again, the Hawks are NIB and the Alcon pads only have 4 laps, so I doubt they have any measurable wear.

Sorry to the delay in getting back and will keep looking for the thickness mm.

Thanks!

Alcon may not be extremely well known like Brembo or Stoptech, but these are superior brakes. A long successful racing history, including wins in recent years, such as The 24hours of Daytona (DP/overall), The Bathurst 1000, Dakar, WRC (multiple championships), the 24 Hours of Dubai, Japan Super GT series, NASCAR (the top series (formerly Winston Cup and then Nextel, I've lost track), F3 and the list goes on and on. This is what the professionals use and you're getting them at glorified street brakes pricing!

SOLD SOLD SOLD! To a forum member... Ebay was a complete waste of time as usual.

Well that was just about my last Corvette part, the GT2 C6 is off at it's new home... :-(

Need to regroup and recover, it's been interesting 4 years of racing.... My advice to new comers - Miata or one of these GTA cars... The only two things that make any sense in road racing (even track days) if you prefer fenders...
