C5 roll cages with door windows?
Hey guys,
Just looking to see if anyone has a c5 with a full roll cage with door bars that allow windows to remain installed? Not worried about the door panels, just want to see if it is possible to keep windows to seal the car up when towing in rain to the track.
As far as I can tell, for NASA rules, the door bars do not need to extend into the door any required amount? Is this correct?
Also, if you do tow with no windows and an open trailer, how are you keeping the car sealed up both for water and theft?

When Phoenix did my cage about 4 years ago, I THOUGHT I was still going to drive the car on the street and had them retain the power windows. They were able to build the NASCAR style bars BUT you will have to forfeit the lower half of your door panels in order to let the bars nest inside the door cavity.

The thought of shattered glass in my eyes was enough for me to ****** the windows. You may want to contact forum member brkntrxn since he just had some window covers made. Falcon also has a contact that can make them.

One way to do this is just have your cage builder make some braces for the window glass so it sits in the door and closes neatly into the frame weatherstrip. It doesn't need to go down, just seal the car.
