Had a Tesla show up to our autocross last year, did real good

Electric motor make MAX torque @ zero rpm

one of the reasons hybrid trains have been around

Yeah, clobbered by .07 seconds. That's a mean grocery getter, just don't race from a roll!

It's a car and a half. And the Vette pulls on the Tesla from half track on both runs, as you would expect from an electric motor where everything comes in at once. Very respectible from a 4 door.

The Tesla also weighs 1300 more lbs than the Vette. Equal weight and the Vette driver would have been looking for his doors. A large part of that weight difference is the battery pack which is mounted at the bottom of the car giving a tall car a great center of gravity.
