I noticed that Chin Motorsports has expanded into the Central U.S. They have their first Texas event at Texas World Speedway in College Station on April 12 & 13th. I am looking forward to fewer/smaller run groups with more drive time. What are other's impressions and experiences with Chin?

A+ best HPDE group I have run with.
Expensive... but they control the run groups very well, and you get a TON of track time. They also seem to have a very high quality of instructors.

The April TWS event is only $199.00 for both days which is a bargain. Three runs groups equate to ~ 3 hours a day per group (less lunch and corner worker breaks).

My comparison is in regard to our local tracks out east. For instance an HPDE weekend with NASA at VIR would cost you about $375 (instructor included if need be), whereas a Chin weekend at VIR is $549 (add $75 if you need an instructor). However, with Chin we are getting about double the track time from a NASA weekend. After factoring in all the weekend expenses, an extra $200 for a Chin event is a small price to pay for double the track time.
Each day the Chin schedule looks like this:
- 30min standing yellow warmup session
- 30min session with your group
- 30min session with your group
- 30min session with your group
- 30min session with your group
- 90min "happy hour" session open to all cars

Another vote for Chin. I instruct with them and they put on one of the most well run events around. Tons of track time and put on quite a few events a year....especially in the Southeast.
As some said, it's a bit more expensive (unless you instruct), but well worth it. Glad they're expanding.

Word of advise-NEVER **** Maria off. She controls the solo and group sign offs !! I like Mark and Maria a lot. They run a fantastic organization. You'll love the amount of track time and at the end of the day-Happy hour. You'll run out of gas before you'll run out of track time.

Wow, that's an amazing price for a 2- day event
