Helmets and Breathability
I just bought a Bell Sport SA2010 and it fits great, but seems to choke me out. I can probably get used to it, especially with a car in motion, but I'm wondering if it's just me and my huge honker or if this is a semi-common phenomenon?

I've worn Bell helmets exclusively for a very long time.
I did notice years ago when I moved up to the "Pro" series that the pads touched my cheeks, took one race to get used to it.
Never had a problem breathing in one.
I really like the fit, ran 1 1/2 hour sessions with them on (endurance race). Still comfortable at the end of a session.
You may get used to it, may not, everyone's head is shaped different.

In my opinion, a helmet should fit tight. It should border on uncomfortable, so it will not rotate on your head when it impacts something. I wear a balaclava, so the fit is even tighter. I recommendd sitting for an hour while wearing the helmet and reading a book. As it ages, a helmet fit will become looser. After the flag drops you won't notice the helmet at all. I actually find the HANS device to be more of a noticable hassle.....but again, after the flag drops, not at all......

Drifting
I've ridden motorcycles for years and sometimes up to a 1000 miles per day. I have the bell m4 iirc. Something about the car and helmets make it so I can't run without the visor open, could just been a mental thing.

I keep it down for the race start, but if we get spread apart the visor is open. I'm thinking I'll stick a piece of brake ducting or dryer hose pointing fresh, hot *** air at me too.
