Default C6 Z51 Sway Bar install issue

I have searched and read all that I could related to issues with the installation of C6 Z51 Sway Bars on a 2002 Base coupe, but have been unable to correct the issue.

After installing the bars this weekend, I'm getting a rattle sound that appears to be coming from the drivers front side. It is most noticeable at low speeds over bumps such as all the frost heaves from the winter.
We tightened and re-tightened the steel end links, but the rattle won't go away. I think I am seeing a mark where the bar may be hitting the A frame. Does this sound familiar? FYI, install was done with the suspension hanging if that makes any difference.

Thanks for your help!

End links are too short, lengthen them (if not adjustable, then buy adjustable ones). Final assembly (one bolt) should be with suspension loaded.

Watch video.

Froggy,

Thanks for your incredibly fast and detailed reply. I wish I had seen your video before installing the bars.

I'm using new metal end links with the C6Z51 bars. Is the problem more likely that these end links are too short, or that I installed with the suspension hanging?

Are the links adjustable in length?

You need to get the adjustable ones like in my video, I like qa1. Get their "Enduro" series.

Be back in a few.

ps buy them direct from qa1, best price.

interesting. is something different 2002 base vs 2003 z06? I installed these (with original stock '03 end links) and had no problem.

I solved for the rattle problem, so I thought I would come back and update the thread.... Turns out that I had a bad end link. Replaced both front with OEM metal links, and the rattle is gone...

Thanks for your help,
MacNH
