Bone stock base C6 exhaust. Oh and some days it's 90db now.
I've seen a stock C6Z06 with the bimode exhaust not pass without lifting, even with the valves forcefully clamped shut.
My 2010 GS was fine in March with zip ties (measured 84 db at WOT), until they melted. A Z06 also played the same trick for the first session.
A fellow GS driver showed me a switch that he used to power the solenoid which forced the NPP valves shut full time. He had no issues with sound.
I haven't installed my own yet, but basically you splice the solenoid line, insert a diode before the splice and send +12v battery power via the switch.
How do you guys get under the 92db sound limit????
My '08 C6 w/ NPP's got flagged between turn 5 and 6 @ 98 decimals. It was a 92 dB day. I was able to put on four 45 degree turndowns & was lucky. I passed from then on that day... the winds, barometric press. & other variables were on my side. A friend of mine who works at the track showed me how to orient the turn downs and we positioned them up in the air at a 10:00 position. However, as my friend said, he couldn't promise this would work.
How bass ackwards from the usual trend of forcing the wide open full time. Are under car dumps effective at tricking these things?
Mixed results, the Spec Miata guys tend to favor silencers over dumps. As Dirk said, there's no guarantee they will work but nearly everyone runs them or lifts.

I have under car dumps before the trans with 3" exhaust all the way...no cats, X Pipe, and a 16" LoBak muffler (Basically same design as a Moroso Spiral muffler....Cherry Bomb looking case with a corkscrew in it with a 1" straight pipe down center. Loud as hell in the car....approximately 98 decibels on the track typically....
