Hey JD

When we talked the other day you said you might be up this week - if so you can take a look at mine.

Here's the set I have for my trailer:

http://www.jegs.com/i/Orange-Electro...ductId=1287069

I can't remember where I got mine, but I think it was around $165.

It's made by Orange Electronics, and seems to work fine. I've only done one tow where I use it - 300 mile round trip down to the Sebring event 2 weeks ago.

The display alternates between the tire pressures and temperatures.

See ya in a couple days if you make it up this way.

BTW - remind me to show you the emails I have received from Kirk. They are very promising concerning getting repairs under warranty!!!

Bob

Truck System Technologies (TST).
Works very well and the sensors screw onto the schrader valves.
It is more expensive, but it is more of an industrial system.
The cheaper ones do not get particularly good reviews on Amazon.

Yes, the tsttruck.com system works well for me. A couple of the senders did fail after a couple of months but the other four have been running happily for a year or more.

I lost three valve stems in a single 700mile tow (much of it at 70mph). The stems were rubber, and quite old. All three came dislodged from the rim and slowly leaked down. So if you're using the senders which screw onto the valve stems then do get metal valve stems or at least freshen up your rubber ones.

I have the TST system with the sensors inside the wheel. I bought six sensors to cover the tires on the trailer and the two spares. The display rotates through the four tires showing pressure and temperature for each tire. After my first trip, I did have them inflated with nitrogen due to the pressure fluctuations setting off false alarms. The alarms are user programmable and I set the ranges too tight. After the nitrogen and changing the settings, no more false alarms. Nice peace of mind to be able to know what's going on back there.

I have TST. I think they cost ~250 for kit with 4 valves.

They work well but make sure that you have metal valve's and not rubber.

TST ...bought their system to cover all the tires on the RV and the trailer.

Top notch system...and gives you some real peace of mind when blasting down the highway.

Paid for itself within 24 hours after installation. Pulled out on the highway the next morning and the alarm went off. One of the tandem rear wheels on the bus was showing a slow leak. Pulled off and went right to the tire shop 2 blocks away. Picked up a nail on the inside tire...and it would have only been a matter of time before it came apart.

Instead of a $900 tire, it cost me a repair. Good stuff...

Jim,
look at both my trailers Saturday. I have 18 on the semi and 4 on the tag. I also have them on my bus. Expensive ($1,000 per set) but well worth the money.
