Default Getting close to time for new tires, which ones?

Ok,

I have gotten old/soft and I am not changing wheels and tires out for autocross anymore. 3 years ago I switched to running Toyo R888's on my C6. I have TSW Nurburgrings on the car with C6Z06 brakes.

I run 275/35/18's up front and 305/30/18's out back. Car grips really well. But, since the tires no workie so well in colder (read sub 50's) temps, it stays parked in the garage a lot.

I was looking forward to the BFG Rivals, but I have read some not so nice reviews (availability, grip after a few days, coming apart), so now I am in a quandary.

Which tires are y'all use for dual purpose? I see, maybe, 1500-2000 miles a year total on the car.

Rival is the only option that offers wider than a 285 for the rear 18" wheels. If you want to step down to a 285 there are several options Bridgestone RE11, Hankook RS3, Dunlop DZII, even Michelin PSS.

If you can deal with 315's, I like my Falken RT-615 K's a lot. The Rivals were tested to be a bit faster by HotRod/Tirerack on a pro touring test they did, but I've been happy with the wear and side grip.

Depending on weather, have you considered either the Nitto 555RII or the NT-01?

Whatever you decide check with your local Cotsco store. They can get most tires and they give you nitrogen for free. They will also check your tire pressure and adjust them any time you pull up to the tire bay. I'm an old time Tire Rack guy but I've really come to appreciate Cots'.

You must have a very accommodating tire dept mgr at your Costco. At mine the will only fit exactly the same tire your car came with (runflats if that's what it came with) and only sell what they stock.
