C5 bbk? wheels?
I'm looking to upgrade the brakes on 1999 frc currently running ccw classic 18x11 square. My question is: What's a reasonably priced kit and will I need to change to different wheels and if so which ones? Thank you in advance

What's the backspace or offset of the wheels? I ran ap 6 piston setup with my 18x11's (70mm offset) but had a 7/8 inch spacer and had to grind the caliper a bit to get spoke to caliper clearance. I replaced my ap setup with a new ap kit (waiting on a rebuild and will be selling ap kit eventually) and got new wheels to clear new setup.
I don't think any 6 piston bbk is going to work with the classics. Most companies selling bbk's have wheel fitment templates you can download print and cut out to see if they work with your wheels.

Burning Brakes
The 18x10.5 TSW Interlagos or Nurburgring will clear the Stoptech ST60 on c5 and c6 cars. They can be run square on C5 with 315mm width tires, on a c6 square with 305mm but drop to 285mm if you are lowered (c6 only). $1050 for 4 to your door from cf sponsors.

I'm running Wilwood W6A front upgrade that uses C6 13.4" or 14" rotors 13.4" rotors clear C5Z wheels... BARELY. And I have 14" rotors behind TSW Nurburgring with plenty of room.

We have two options for your car...
Sprint Kit
Endurance Kit
We have tons of guys pulling off other brands of BBK's and installing both of these options.
The Sprint Kit is a smaller four piston/325x32mm setup, and it's going to be easier on the budget short-term. It doesn't have quite the thermal mass of our six piston/355x32mm kit. Whether or not the Sprint kit would get the job done for you would depend on a wide range of factors including horsepower & weight, tires, tracks being run, and driving style. Most find that the Sprint Kit works great for them. Others want the added thermal capacity of the larger Endurance Kit.
CCW Classics are a really tough fit with any BBK, regardless of how wide they are. The step lip and spoke design eat all of the available space. Something like the CCW Corsair has miles of clearance for BBK's.
Finally, if somewhere down the line you want a rear BBK, we have one available that works with both of our front options.
You can read lots of feedback and reviews of our systems on our essex blog.
If you're interested in more input on which option is right for you, feel free to email me or call us (704)824-6030.
