Default 1/8th clearance with Wiwoods and 18" Z06 wheels on front OK?

They are the narrow SL6s (7416 pads). I put them on and they clear, but it is close, like 1/8th of an inch. Don't know how much wheel flexes, if any, but there is not much room. I have some spacers if needed. Should I go ahead and put them on or does everyone just go with it?

I've run them on Z06 wheels for years and unless the hub goes bad no problems. No spacers on mine.

Same here, I ran my 17's up front on 13.4" rotors with W6A calipers and I would have killed for 1/8" clearance, I ran much less than that and had no problems. Thankfully my pads were properly aligned without any spacers as well. When I called Wilwood the tech guy and told him I had maybe as little as .060" (probably less, but I was being optimistic) he said I should be fine, and I had no problems.

I even overheated a set of BP20 pads and had no problems with all the extra heat that put out, and nothing expanded to have any clearance issues.

17" C5Z wheels have more clearance than 18".
I ran a 1/8" spacer when I ran Wilwoods with 7420 pads.

Go with it. However...I'd urge you to check any alternative (stock) wheels you may have. Seen a few times over the years variations in castings creep in on things.

I did the same thing. In order to get more threads for the lug nut when I was running the spacer I changed the wheel bearing studs to Dorman studs that were the same size as the stock stud but were threaded all the way to the end of the stud. That way I had enough threads engaged with the lug nut to prevent any issues while on track and when I was driving on the street I used the stock front wheel with no spacer. Since the stud was the same length as the stock stud the lugnut would tighten down all the way without the stud pushing on the cap.

The rule of thumb is .080 of a inch. 1/8 inch is .125. So you should be good to go. Like said before, if you wheel bearings are good, hot and cold.

Hubs are SKFs that are less than 2 yrs old.

However, when I switched my WW street rotor to my WW track rotors, the clearance is like 1/2" - ?????? The hats look the same and the rotors are the same size. Not sure what that is about, but definitely no concern now.

BTW - brakes are huge difference over stock. Took a couple of sessions to get used the extra stopping power. Actually, still stopping short at the end of the day.
