Front air dam
I'm looking to make a front air dam for my 68
Thinking of something that looks like this
Can anyone recommend what kind of material I should use..
Also what thickness.. I would like it to be able to flex a bit when need be..
Any recommendations on where to buy would be fantastic..
This is my car for visual reference..

Just call Danny Popp and ask him what he used for his (the blue car pictured above).
If not, then a sheet of black ABS would be your choice of materials in my opinion. 3-5mm would be about the right thickness. ABS is easy to cut, rigidly flexible, and cheap enough to remake when damaged.

Why not extend it further down at the sides and make a propper splitter? Would help more than a simple air dam. You could even build in brake cooling/oil cooler ducts etc.also if you did it in black it wouldn't stand out as much.

I am gonna use the L88 road race air dam as used on the Owens Corning race corvette's on my road race 69 build. I will also use alumacor for a splitter with it.
My air dam came from Stinger Fiberglass in Titusville Fl.

How 'bout one like this?
It's 1/8" white abs plastic that I cut from a leftover sign. The slight bend at the center makes it pretty stiff. I've only broken two of them in the last 6-8 years. And the first was on the trailer ramp door edge. The second finally broke after several years of autocrossing (hitting cones). It's just bolted on with 1/4" bolts and wingnuts.
If you want to try one out, I can send you one of my old ones to test fit, and copy for the shape.
