auto x sway bar set up for c6, opinions?
just looking for opinions on this subject.. i have an 08 z51 m6 with JRI shocks, all i do is auto x this car , i was going to go with t1 or lg motorsports sway bars but my concern is this may be too much sway bar for auto x , would a smaller johnny o'conell be better for me? i hate buying stuff twice. the z51 bar isnt cutting it anymore, my friend who is an instructor/alignment guy (west end align.) said there was no way i needed sway bars! after we went auto-xing this weekend he said i could def benefit from them.

You can never have to many sway bars. I've used all of mine at one point. Base, Z51, Z06, Hotchkis, and Addco. I've even had no sway bar in the rear at one time. So to answer your question is tough. I would say a 33 to 35mm in the front would be a good start. Then buy a rear one to adjust the balance your looking for. I currently have a C5 Z06. Where did you autocross last weekend?

It all depends on what tires you run. If you run street tires, I'd advise not even considering T1 bars. On 285 square Direzzas, my C5 understeered with the T1 front bar. With A6s, T1 bars with stock springs may be a good setup.
I prefer a stiff front spring to the fat front bar, personally. Just my 11 cents..

I will be trying nto5 275/35/18 and 335/30/19, (not my first choice but my tires are wore out and have to have at least 200AA tw)have ps2 zp right now 275fr and 325 rear. Maybe a 35 mm front is where i will start, the front end seems to be diving to much, shredded & wore the valance in half on both sides.
I'd personally only put a bigger front bar on if you can't deal with the roll up front. You may need a big rear bar in order to balance the car with the tire stagger. Maybe Z06 bars or Z06 front bar with a T1 rear bar would be a decent starting point.

I have an 07 Z51 that I AutoX in AS . I talked to Sam Strano about my setup and he recommended his 1 and 5/16th inch bar for street tire use. I haven't put the bar on the car yet but will before my AutoX this weekend.

Sway bars - ZR1 front sway bar is plenty stiff for street tires. Rear bar either c6z06 or c6z51. JOC or pfadt light rate are good but youre going to have a hard time finding them since pfadt just went out of business
As far as tires go, if you run base sizing you can get bridgestone RE11s in 245/285 and theyre still 200 treadwear. Im not sure how much grip your current wider setup is getting but my c6 regularly reaches 1.1 to 1.2+g daily driving with base size re11s.
If youre willing to go to a 180 treadwear, you can get the re11s in a 275/325 setup
If you go sub 100 treadwear, you can get Pirelli Trofeos (equivalent to pilot sport cups) in 245/325 sizing or you can get toyo r888s in 275/325 sizing
If you really want to go nuts you can get r888s in a 335/30r18 front & 345/30/r19 rear sizing and keep roughly the same diameter ratios as the stock setup however I think youd need gs/z06/zr1 fenders as the base fronts dont have a lot of room for anything beyond a 275
good luck!

I got Strano's 33mm hollow for the front instead of factory C5z front.
It works pretty well on street tires running A-street.
T1 is def too much for autox, especially for street tire
