Thinking of selling my car...need some opinions
So...like many of you, we don't have a nice pretty stock car that most vette owners want. Aside from a cage it was made to be a track monster. It's gutted, no Ac, no radio, no speakers, the front bumper has holes all over for the splitter. The rear bumper is cut for the wing....you know the deal. Anyway it's built like a brick wall and is dependable as a gets. My question is, does anyone know a place to put cars like this for sale? I think it's to extream for the average person.

I sold my SM/CP prepped 1999 camaro SS using Ebay, classified listings, not the auctions. I had it listed on the LS1tech, SCCAforums with no takers, put it on the ebay classifieds and 2weeks and 1 day I sold it to a guy half way across the country,

What should I realistically ask for it? Built diff, 416 forged motor makes 600 hp, g2 coils, on and on. Body is perfect. It's an 02

Had some luck buying things on racingjunk.com ... never sold there though.
What should you ask? Depends on how quickly you want to sell it. Usually it seems that what cars like that actually sell for is a lot less than they are actually "worth". If you are willing to wait for the right person with the right size wallet your number will be drastically different than if you want it gone in the near future.

Racingjunk or Ebay
You can try the forum but I don't think it's the best place for a specialized car.
I've had very good luck with Ebay. It might take a while, but you'll get top $$ for it.
Best of luck!

Consider the difference in parting out vs. selling the package. In most instances like this you'd probably be better selling the high dollar stuff (wing, suspension, etc) and asking less for a less modified track car.
Otherwise you're stuck waiting for what Red says - the guy with the right size wallet.
This could be fast or could take years...there are still track cars on the forums getting bumped up that have been for sale since 2011.

I was thinking of parting it, but selling all that may take just as long. I'm in no hurry so that's a plus. I know I'd never get what I have in it. Prob 70-80+ I'd prob ask 30

Track Junky
racingjunk, scca forum, nasa forum or this forum would be a good start. Sweet car by the way...
The two racecars I've bought were here and racingjunk.

I think the problem you're gonna have is that it's not a race car, and it's not a street car so finding the right fit will be difficult. Consider working it to fit into a specific racing class and part out what you can't use?

Moe nailed it. I personally wouldn't pay you anymore than high teens, maybe low $20s for it. Why? It isn't a street car and it isn't a race car. It is a street legal-ISH DE car. You can buy full on ST1 and ST2 cars for mid 20s that are turn key and ready to race. You can buy mint street C5s for low teens. Your car is somewhere in between and doesn't fit anything.
Sorry to be honest with you. I have that much in my podium proven race car and I know it is never going to be worth anything more than mid to high 20s. Just reality.
Your car would be worth more if you went ahead and caged it and actually raced it a couple of times to prove its worth. In my opinion.

eBay, eBay, eBay... I sold a very specialized fox body earlier this year ($20k+) which I had listed on the forums for 2-3 weeks with a few bites here or there, but as soon as I listed it on eBay, guy texted me for my bank account number and he wired the funds within 24 hours. I never even spoke to the guy on the phone until he called me a few months later raving about how much fun he had at the OT events he's been doing over the summer. eBay for sure is where you'll sell it. Don't be surprised if you end of up shipping it to Finland or Australia, the world is full of guys with money...

The guys in Europe seem to love track Corvettes.
This whole discussion reminds me why I'm still driving my C4 at the track. Track day cars are a really tough sell. They're not worth much - not matter how much you have put into it.
I'm thinking high teens, maybe $20,000 if you you find the right person

Be carefull with the overseas sales, I sold my 1999 ss camaro to a really nice couple from Norway, they were totally on the up and up, and wired me a deposit, arranged container transport. Then the the government got involved, they could not get an import permit for a Modified car, we both tried true the state dept. but it ended up killing the sale.
