AiM Solo GPS Lap Timer
Using GPS based data, the Solo identifies the finish line coordinates and automatically starts sampling and displaying lap times.
The AIM Solo is an automatic lap timer based on GPS technology. The Solo locates its GPS position, identifies the track from the internal list of the main world tracks and starts automatically sampling lap times.
The AIM SOLO automatically records and displays all useful data to improve any type of race performance: speed, performance and regularity on both open and closed circuits (ex. rally). Solo can show: speed, lap and split times, predictive lap time, best lap (the fastest; or in regular race, the one nearest to the reference one) and acceleration. When race is over, all data (Predictive lap time excluded, of course) can be downloaded on a PC and analyzed through Race Studio 2 software using graphs, tables and also real GPS images. The Solo DL is a more advanced data logging model. The Solo DL will connect to over 300 supported ECU models, including OEM CAN, OBDII, and the most advanced third party ECU's in motorsports. Burning Brakes
Any planned Group purchases on the Smarty cam? I have a Pista dash in my race car and would like to replace my Contour camera with a Smarty cam....but, despite the benefits of integrated data (which I would really like to have) it is really hard to justify $1K for a camera with lower resolution.

That is a yes and no question. The Solo DL will work on a 2003 ZO6 and interface with the Smarty Cam. However the Solo DL in a 2003 ZO6 will data log only as a Solo it does not data log engine data from the ECU as it does in a C6 the Solo DL does not read the OEM CAN, OBDII, on the C5. So you can record your lap times along with speed, track position, lateral g-forces, linear g-forces, yaw rate, heading, slope, satellite reception, and battery voltage. All tests are stored with a time and date stamp for on-screen review or PC download for further analysis. Download your Solo data to the included full version of RaceStudio2.
You can not data log rpm, oil pressure, or other engine data.

Using GPS based data, the Solo identifies the finish line coordinates and automatically starts sampling and displaying lap times.

The Solo DL is a more advanced data logging model. The Solo DL will connect to over 300 supported ECU models, including OEM CAN, OBDII, and the most advanced third party ECU's in motorsports. I finally got tired of messing with a GoPro and bought the SmartyCam HD to go with my Solo DL. Unlike the GoPro you don't have to worry about turning it on, turning it off, changing the batteries after every session, and then trying to sync the data and do overlays with a 3rd party product.
However, has anyone figured out how to get brake data from a Solo DL on a C6? You can get throttle position but I can't seem to get brake pedal position or even on/off.

I also added inputs for o2 & fuel pressure.

Burning Brakes
The current protocol does not have a brake pressure channel. in the c6/zo6 setup. Both options in the config will only read Accelerator pedal. If you wanted to, you could wire in a brake pressure sensor into one of the eight available analog inputs and that will get you your brake info.
Does the SoloDL have 8 analog inputs?
From what I see on the AiM web site I think you are stuck with the ECU inputs only. I may have missed something on the AiM web site.

After years of intensive development, AIM Sports has released the AIM SmartyCam HD, an all new camera designed specifically for motorsports. Unlike a traditional action camera that has been designed for everything from jumping out of airplanes, to surfing killer waves, the SmartyCam HD has been engineered by motorsports enthusiasts who spend their lives at the track.
Just like the original AIM SmartyCam, the SmartyCam HD automatically overlays all of your essential track data: speed, RPM, lap-number, gearshifts, and much more. With the huge selection of overlay layouts, you can fully customize your track experience to watch over and over again. Capable of operating as a standalone unit (optional GPS antenna required), the SmartyCam is also fully optimized to work with your existing AIM Data system. Simply plug it in with the CAN-cable and instantly access all of your vehicle information.
The SmartyCam HD features a proprietary lens that was developed exclusively for motorsports. Ever notice how generic action-cameras make nearby objects look far away, making it near impossible to determine if a track is straight or curved? The telecentric lens has six elements to help reduce this distortion. Add to this a global-shutter CMOS sensor that helps reduce that sickening wave effect caused by track and engine vibrations and you get truly track oriented video!
And about that video quality - how's 1280x700 pixels at 30 fps sound? Such high quality usually comes at the price of memory card space. Not in the SmartyCam HD. Using H264 compression, a 1-hour recording uses as little as 1.5GB (4GB with high-quality setting). The camera comes with a 4GB card, but with SD cards available in sizes as large as 128GB, that means up to 30 hours of high-quality recordings per card! Auto stop-start, and Auto-Off capabilities help make sure your data-space and battery life aren't wasted.
The attractive body features a front mount, color TFT display. Why a front facing viewfinder instead of the standard rear placement on all other cameras? Simple - where is it easiest to check the camera position from the driver's seat? The machined aluminum body is also designed to resist the rigors of motorsports. The AIM Solo is an automatic lap timer based on GPS technology. The Solo locates its GPS position, identifies the track from the internal list of the main world tracks and starts automatically sampling lap times.
The AIM SOLO automatically records and displays all useful data to improve any type of race performance: speed, performance and regularity on both open and closed circuits (ex. rally). Solo can show: speed, lap and split times, predictive lap time, best lap (the fastest; or in regular race, the one nearest to the reference one) and acceleration. When race is over, all data (Predictive lap time excluded, of course) can be downloaded on a PC and analyzed through Race Studio 2 software using graphs, tables and also real GPS images. Moreover, thanks to the built-in track database it is no more necessary to fix beacon coordinates to sample lap times: just switch Solo on and it detects the coordinates using the GPS, automatically recognizing track, lap and split coordinates. Solo DL, with the included OBDII connecter
The Solo DL is a more advanced data logging model. The Solo DL will connect to over 300 supported ECU models, including OEM CAN, OBDII, and the most advanced third party ECU's in motorsports. Thus giving you a Solo with all the above features, plus the ability to record up to 100 additional channels coming from your ECU (model pending). The Solo DL will also seamlessly interface with our popular SmartyCam video recording with real-time data overlay.
