Default update on cooling issue.

So, last year on track I was hitting 300° water and oil temp . It was 95 out and humid and a tight track, but that can't fly. The car has a 416 with a stand alone oil cooler and stock radiator. Not sure why, but I wanted to keep the stock radiator and challenge myself to make something to make it work. Anyway on track this week the ambient temp was 91 and sunny as could be. After a 30 min session the oil was at 250 and water was only 210! At first I thought the sensor was bad because water is usually the same or close to the oil temp. But it read normal from 80-210 so it must be correct. This was 80% water and water wetter in it.

This is the cover I made . The holes on the side are taped closed now. This was right after the engine rebuild. There is panels on the side enclosing a air tight box around the rad and fans

And the bumper didn't melt. That's a plus. Lol

Interesting. The C6 goes into overheat protection mode @ ~255*F on the coolant, 320*F oil.

Glad the hood cured your issues. I went with separate oil and trans cooler and the bigger rad route and got 213* as a max on avg on the coolant @ the Glen with ambient ~76*.

The hood was the same as the 300° day. It was just making the box and cutting more bumper away.
