Default Handling with s/c vs. heads cam (n/a)

Anyone have first hand experience with the differences associated in handling due to added weight of centri supercharger? Very noticeable or little change?

In the heat, any forced induction in a trackday car is ill advised.

Stay with heads/Cam.

A vette is very fast stock with a driver mod.

I know about the concern of heat with blowers in a race application. what about the additional weight of the super charger and its effects on handling? noticeable?

A blower only adds 100lbs at most. I haven't raced one, but I've driven one a lot compaired to mine and I don't really notice much. Other than coming out of a corner hard can get more tricky. Lol

100 extra lbs all the way at the nose of the car has to be noticeable in a negative way.

Are you racing, or just 20-25 min HPDE sessions?
If racing then maybe H/C, otherwise most DE's allow enough time to cool between runs and you could easily upgrade HE and IC's, add meth, etc. for the added hp benefit.

This is the roadracing section, right? Not much talk about going to McDonald's should be expected.

I put the A&A supercharger on my car and have done track days before the change and after. Unfortunately I made some other changes too with aero and springs so I can't give you a definite answer as to the difference.

The car is faster with more power, stiffer springs, and aero, so the brakes take more of a pounding, but as far as the change in weight is concerned I can't tell a difference in the handling.

If I recall the supercharger components added approximately 75lbs (pounds, not horsepower) and the aero added approximately 20lbs. The wing is light but the splitter/undertray and side skirts still weigh something. Those weights are net change. Some things come off when others go on, some things are lighter like my carbon hood with pins.

Suprisingly, I haven't noticed a lack of traction exiting corners.
