Default Jim Mckamey sets new track record in Wisconsin with his Ridetech equipped C5

Congratulations go out to RideTech Nation member Jim McKamey for his back to back 1st place finishes in Wisconsin. Jim competed in last weekend’s Road America NASA event with his RideTech equipped C5 Corvette. Jim set a new class track record on Saturday only to beat it again on Sunday. When asked about the cars performance Jim said "It just keeps plugging along on those fabulous RideTech shocks and suspension!!!"

is 2:27 considered fast for a car so heavily modified?

I thought any track record is indicative of fast.

On that track in that class, yeah. RA is a big HP track and TT3 is limited to very little HP.

Assuming his car is 3150 lbs with driver and running Hoosiers wider than 275mm, he can only have 335 whp at most.

Actually Jim knocked it down to a 2.25.8 on Sunday showing why this is one of the fastest TT3 cars in the country. It's different but it works!
Nice jobs Jim, as always nice seeing you

I have been on track with Jim and even with more hp it is near impossible to keep up with him. Years of experience behind the wheel and what ever secrets he has in his aero set up make this car really fast. At Road America this weekend I saw him do something that is rare for him... he changed brake pads. With his aero setup he does not need brakes the car just sticks wherever he wants it to go. Great driver with a great car makes for a lot of track records.

Always a pleasure to be in the paddock next to Jim, he is always helping others with set up or questions about turn in or braking zones. Spend time with him and you will be a better driver.

My friend and I ran as a team. team #44
We spoke with the driver of the Orange Boss.
He and my partner had a great session Saturday pm.
Both set their fastest times, if I remember correctly.
