Default overall height of c6 trans mount

looking for overall height for c6 trans mount ,,, i am looking to make a set of c6 solid trans mount ... i am running a sequential trans on my c6r race vette and have had some hairline cracks on 2 of my rear ends cases in the same place and after about a hour 2 hrs of run time.. after close inspection the trans and motor mounts seem to be to soft and with these summer heats they have shown to be melted and seem to have to much flex in the drive train as i shift.. i am going to try some solid mount and see if i can keep my rear end from cracking...

Thank you in advance

Manny

is this stock c6 measurement

since i cant find any of the Pfadt around i am going to make my own...

2.910 seem a little short i have a set of Hinson trans mount but the heat has effected them and they have melted down and i dont trust using them for any measurement,,, but they seem a lot taller then 2.910

Measurement is not including mounting studs. Only flat to flat on OEM.

I have heard engine mount melted when used without heat shield.

You have that much heat to melt the Hinson trans mounts?

Run a more solid engine mount instead?

i agree and i was running them with out heat shields on the motor mount side ,, they also show sighs of melting and felt soft,, the trans mounts also show that they have melted into each other.. i cant believe that there is that much heat around the trans,, i have other plastic parts and don't show any signs of heat or melting,,,,,,

I have been chasing a rear end cracking issue and have destroyed 3 rear end cases, all with hair line crack on the face that meets up with the trans, ,, We have check the alignment many time,, nothing binds,, everything go's together very easily,,, we just installed a trans?rear end Brace,, and still got the problem back after about the same 1 1/2 hrs of track time,,, I Always wondered about the Hinson mounts and even called them and explained my situation and they said they get back with me, they never did,,, i believe that these mounts are to soft and when they get hot they even get softer ,, this with the combination of my Sequential trans ,,, the whole thing starts to move around ,,, and the weakest part (diff Case) cracks from flexing..
my next move is to go with solid mounts and see if i can keep the rear end case from cracking,,,

I believe Hinson mount are ok for street use but they don't hold up to track use,,, My mounts have a total of less 5 tack hrs if that,,,
I have already gotten From MTI the front solid motor mounts now looking for a set of rears or going to make a set,,,

thank you for the info.. it looks like i will be making a set...

regards

Solid mount will make the situation worse IMO since it will mess with the expansion rates of the case when it heats up.

been told on this forum that you need flex on one end or the other.
A ZR1 case is what you need (cast Iron)
