Default Transmission Cooler Question

I have a fairly good sized cooler on my transmission. The return line is also routed thru the OEM heat exchanger to cool the differential. The cooler is located where the storage box used to be in the left rear so it's higher than the transmission. There has to be at least a pint of fluid in the cooler and lines. Would this fluid drain back into the tranny or stay in the cooler and lines when the engine is off? I'm concerned about have the correct oil level in the tranny. Tranny is newly rebuilt with no fluid now.

I guess one way to find out is to fill the transmission then run the engine for a while to circulate the fluid then shut off and refill?

Jim

Solution from Justin at ZIP: The tranny fluid will drain back so you raise the left side of the car with a lift and put in extra fluid. Problem solved!
