Larry the Roofers new tube frame C6
Larry Lepurage, better known as "Larry the Roofer" from NYC recently commissioned Woody from Bemco Fab to build him a new tube frame C6.
The car will be similar to the one Woody recently built for Mike Beckers of SD with the notable exception of a Nascar SB2 for power.
The car will have:
* RCR SB2 with 750 plus HP
* Jerico 4 speed
* Nascar Grand National type 9" Ford Floater rear end with locker
* Ohlins adjustable, canister shocks
* CCW 18x13 wheels with World Challenge type rubber
* AP Nascar 6 piston calipers in front and 4 piston rear
* Kirkey containment seat
* three link rear suspension with a Watts link
* cockpit adjustable sway bar
* C6 GT-2 type body
Woody plans to have it ready to test in late September
Larry will mostly compete with NASA at NJMP, Watkins Glen, Pocono and other tracks in the NE.

That will be a killer FUN car. I realize that specs can vary, but would like to know an order of magnitude on cost of a car like that. I'm thinking somewhere in the 85 to 100K range. Any body have educated input on cost ??

CHJ you are spot-on on the cost. My build was a little less than that as I have a TA2 spec LS3 in my car along with TA2 spec parts. I believe Larry's build will be closer to a top rung TA car.

SB2 Chevy's can be bought fresh for about 15K, which is not too bad considering they make 750-800 plus HP. The problem is that they are good for about 500 miles before needing a 10K re-fresh. They need to be turned 8500 plus.
A 550 HP LS3 in one of Woody's chassis makes for a pretty wicked piece, yet good for many more miles of competition. The performance potential of Mike's car is similar to a top flight TA2 car.
Woody built me a similar chassis with a near stock LS6 (Grand Am rules 2009) with 470 HP, and it ain't no slug.
These cars are well under 85K and are best suited with the LS motors for NASA SU, ST1 or SCCA SPO.
I am re-bodying mine (the one in avatar) with the same body as Mike's and repowering with an LS3.
