I've been buying from Gary for more than a decade, and recent experiences have really gone downhill. Website has been down for months.
Wanted to get replacement ring for the LEMD rotors -- he finally gave me specs and told me to order from Coleman. Ordered SKF hubs, came from Vansteel after long delay.
Ordered Penske 3-ways in May. Finally got my deposit back mid-August. Ordered direct from Penske and had them is a week.
Gary promised me pictures many many times - but never sent any.

Has had nice parts over the years -- but I'm done.
He obviously does not want to run a business, even if it's a part time enterprise.

Lousy service and too many broken promises this year.

I will second the above. If you can get him to answer the phone or return your call, he will tell a sad story, which is unfortunate if true, and then make promises about production, refunds, etc., which he doesn't keep. IMO, he should have been truthful about his inability to fulfill orders because now he has lost his integrity too. I also recommend not sending him any money unless you consider him a charity.

Anyone got a good source for replacement rings on the 2pc. AP T1 C5 brake rotors? I guess I need to stock up on a few.

Here is Gary's source for those: http://www.essexparts.com/shop/brake-discs.html

Jeff Ritter will be happy to help you out -- no need to stock up.

If you put all the measurements together, you can get Coleman discs.
Coleman has a form on their website to fill in with all the measurements.
You can get them blank, slotted, heat treated, whatever you want.

I use Coleman discs in my AP setup on the C5.

That does look like the same one to fit the hat. Price is the same anyway.

I'll call and see if that would fit the hat I have and check their price, also.

Thanks.

Thanks, guys.

Guys, anyone have the phone number for Gary? I have cracks in my AP T1 kit caliper brackets and need replacements. Essex apparently can't get them.

If someone has used brackets, I'd buy them of course.

I had already contacted them, they told me they couldn't sell me the brackets I need. Thanks anyway. I got some contact info from another forum member. I hope Gary can still provide the brackets.

worst case scenario, you could take measurements and have these folks make a set for you:

good luck!

Couldn't essex sell you their brackets that they use to mount their t1 kit?

You'd think so but first answer (over the phone, my friend called) was negative. I sent them an email with more details, we'll see what they say.

It's still pretty scary that the part would crack like that!

I'm pretty sure the bracket has to be matched to the rotor hat and the two are slightly different. In other words, to use the Essex bracket you'd have to switch to Essex rotor hats.

I find myself in pause for reflection mode. I need to inspect some things today anyway so I think I'll add another item to my list.

Those have 3-4 seasons of hard use. But this shouldn't be a wear item, IMO.

One of my friends is looking into designing a better quality piece as a replacement part. Would some of you with the T1 kit be interested?

Sure. Sounds like I might need a spare. Gary's bracket lets you run stock rotors or stock rotor replacements like the DBA 4K rotors I am running now. The Essex bracket in their kit is less compatible with other rotors.

I hear ya, but if they are made of aluminum, they are subject to metal fatigue.
