I actually had my full aero C6 out today on the street as it's starting to look like winter around here soon and I wanted to drive it a little more before snow and salt hit the roads.

Danny's streetcar C5 does not have a cage. it needs one as all of these cars that are going this fast do.

That's one thing that's interesting. Jimi Day is the primary promoter and is very very keen on the racers safety. He does Open road race like the Silver State classic too and has seen what can happen to people going fast without the right gear. I remember him stating...I will never ever dock you for engineering/style points for having added safety gear in your car.

As for full Aero...they allow GTR's, Nismos, Viper ACR's, GT2/3's and Lamborghinis run with factory aero, so it makes sense to have a variance on the Pro Touring cars etc. Still a lot of fast guys like Stielow, Ridetech, DSE choose not to run wings.

Brandon Ranvek's Evo ran really strong and averages pretty well in this multi event format. The two 5th Gen Camaros were REALLY close to Danny (ahead of GTR/911/Viper). This event just keeps getting better and better.

That's really cool. I can appreciate that stand point. And I'm encouraged to see some promoters/event organizers still care about safety.

Since running with the Ohio RAFT group I have realized one thing that will always be true: if you think they have something trick up their sleeve, just let them drive your car for a timed lap. Sure, there is some good engineering there but I am more impressed with their talent.

If this is not the truth I don't know what is!

It's a joke, really, and keeps me from having interest in running their events since my car is actually a street car.

If your car comes to the event on a trailer, it is NOT a street car.

And with all that competition, the RAFT group, especially Danny, always come out on top!

The white corvette has done the OLOA and went thru PA as well as navigated a parking garage in St Louis with all the ramps and such. Just sayin.

Maybe that guy just needs to find a venue in which he can compete instead of trying to change the rules just for himself.

The key is not whether they meet troyguitar's definition of a street car, but if they meet the OUSC's definition. Which they do.

I only really take issue with the ridiculous splitters that make cars impossible to use on real streets AND make a giant wing necessary to balance them out.

Notice that in half of the shots of the blue vette he's not even running the splitter... How does having to swap your aero parts in and out over the course of the day in any way make your car a street car?
