Vettes continue to rock the Optima USCA events. Congrats on the win Danny!

Also very interested in this... from what I can tell it has a worked over (de-stroked?) LS7 with custom very long tube AR headers, forgeline 18x11/18x12 with 315/335 Rivals, JRi shocks. Running a very low front ride height too, I know Danny likes to run high front spring rates so it'd be interesting to know if he did anything else besides spring rate and JRi shocks to get the front to work at that height, like bump steer adjustable tie rod ends. No idea on sway bars. I saw a big Baer brake kit in the pictures.

Since running with the Ohio RAFT group I have realized one thing that will always be true: if you think they have something trick up their sleeve, just let them drive your car for a timed lap. Sure, there is some good engineering there but I am more impressed with their talent.
I can't see the link, but I'm aware of the fact that this "street car" competition is full of cars that wouldn't even be able to pull into my driveway without breaking stuff.
It's a joke, really, and keeps me from having interest in running their events since my car is actually a street car.
If your car comes to the event on a trailer, it is NOT a street car.

I only really take issue with the ridiculous splitters that make cars impossible to use on real streets AND make a giant wing necessary to balance them out.
Notice that in half of the shots of the blue vette he's not even running the splitter... How does having to swap your aero parts in and out over the course of the day in any way make your car a street car?

Check...and....mate. I remember one of your posts a couple years back about how much top speed you lost when you added your wing..in Mexico right?
Guys here talking about "street cars not being trailered" are being unrealistic when it comes to this particular event. I drive to a lot of events, but Vegas is a 4000 mile round trip. When I competed in 2010, Erik at Backstreet Performance and I trailered out from Cleveland..tied for 7th with Stoptech, turned around and burned up the truck's transmission in Colorado on our way back. We unloaded the Vette and hauled *** all the way home....retrieving the repaired truck/trailer a week later. The Vette barely barely made it because of torn quibos and certainly wouldn't have made it out and back without something going wrong and me missing work. No way 2 guys, spare tire, gear, food, jack, tools, tanks, fluids etc. in a 2 seater is workable.

Me thinks that the guys complaining about Danny not having a street car or saying its not a "true" by their definition street car probably don't have the driver mod/talent required to do so regardless of the car/mods.
If thats incorrect then get out there next year and prove you have the skill.
I won at the Pittsburgh event and earned a invite to Vegas running a C5 on STOCK suspension, STOCK wheels and a motor that was stock besides headers/intake. if I can do that surely there are others here who I know are better drivers that could do just as well.
Sure the well engineered machines will be faster and win the overall event, but almost any vehicle has what it takes to get invited if you put in the seat time and make it stick. I don't doubt Danny could've damn near won the event in my car, his mods just make it a bit easier.
Bottom Line? stop making excuses and come drive!
By the way, I drove my car 2100 miles back to MI after finishing the Vegas event.

it wasn't as low as you think:
