Trans Am @ Daytona this weekend
Trans Am is at Daytona this weekend with HSR. The TA race will be Saturday. This weekend also features the Classic 24 Hours of Daytona with many great race cars and racers out of the past.
Yesterday was a practice session for all groups.
In Trans Am 2 class, Gar Robinson was quickest in the afternoon session in a Howe Camaro at around 1:53.5 with Cameron Lawrence next in the Miller Racing Dodge Challenger at about 1:53.9. Next was Ron Keith in the Mike Cope Mustang at 1:55 and change with Bobby Kennedy in the Bemco Mustang about a tenth back of Keith.
In the Big TA Class I believe the Ave Racing Corvette of Doug Pederson was quickest, followed by Paul Fix in another Ave Corvette. Fix crashed hard later in the session and that car is likely done for the weekend. I heard they will have a spare for Fix.
Simon Gregg was also quick in the Derhaag Motorsports C7 as was Amy Ruman in her C6.
More testing today for TA.
