Default Helm Joint End Links

What are my options besided E.M., Gulstrand, and DRM?

They all seem over priced. C5 links cost less money.

I may go with a sway bar relocation bracket that requires some drilling and such as a options.

This is for my coil over suspension that I am putting together.

Thanks!

Give Tom at Banski Motorsports a call/email. I know he was working on some at one time.

I did not see the part on their site so I sent an e-mail.

Thank you.

There was a long thread on the subject in this page of the forum. Do a search on "sway bar end links" and clunking and you should find it. It's a pretty long thread. I ended up using QA-1 links and they were very reasonably priced. I've had them in there for about 3 or 4 years and they are still quiet, so they seem to be a pretty good product for a reasonable price.

I am on that thread, I'm sure. QA1 is best "value" but you need to be able to spec it out yourself, part by part. Not that hard. The extra you pay the other guys is for doing all the specing for you.

You do understand that the race shops don't manufacture their own links.

I prefer these: http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...=31&ModelID=11

Easier to install. More quiet. And easier to adjust. I use them on my cars (front and rear on my FRC, front only on my SSR Z06 as I'm not allowed to change the rears).

And I think you'll find the price a bit less harsh. And if you want two sets so you can have them on both sway bars, then you can save a few more bucks this way: http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...=31&ModelID=11

More options than any other single company out there. More parts than any other single company I know: Brakes to Safety, Wheels to Exhaust. Suspension to Air Filters: Girodisc, Hawk, Raybestos, Essex Racing/AP, Ferodo, Wilwood, Penske, Koni, Borg Motorsport, Ridetech, Viking, After Dark Speed, Hotchkis, Bilstein, KW, Forgestar, BC Forged, Forgeline, MRR Wheels and on, and on, and on it goes.

The big thing is keeping your heim joints clean if it's a street car. If it's a race car you're going to be taking it apart all the time so it's no big deal.

Here's an article I did a few months back about heim joints.

This is for a 4th gen corvette so all the C5 and up stuff wont work.

Anyone know what the parts are for this? 10th posting down?

Don't know if they make them for corvettes, but I use either FK or Aurora rod ends on my dirt car. They are a little pricey (Teflon lined ones) but they are good quality.

You (or somebody) has to do the measuring. Aurora & Qa1 do not package their parts for 19xx Corvette.

Yet another reason the links I use are a good choice. Sealed ball joints. They stay clean, and they are much more quiet than rod-ends.

There are cheap heim links, that sound like baby rattles. Common for these cars, cost around $70 a pair, and I got lots of complaining about noise. I can't stand the rattling myself.

All of the links I've seen to date are simply a male rod end threaded into a female rod end with a jam nut. IMHO, not very creative and it's only adjustable in 1/2 turn increments.

I have a design for an infinitely adjustable link that uses a collet style clamp.

Unfortunately I found the design to be more expensive than the market would bear.

Again, I use these. Solves the issue with having to remove one end to adjust, and they are quiet.

I am interested in your (Whiteline) design!

All your advertised description said is a steel ball joint! Could you elaborate, maybe with pictural views?

If you click on the link it goes to his website and it has a picture of them. Look like nice units with a sealed link so no greasing is required.

Sam, do you know the adjustment length range? Do you have them in stock or do you drop ship from whiteline?

I checked his site, only has smallish picture.

Whiteline sits has better picture in terms of external appearance.

I am more interested in the construction of internals.

Thanks!

The stud is 12mm. They are Whitelines, but I sell them for less than most places will. The design, it's a ball joint, very much like what you'd see on a tie-rod end. They give PLENTY of adjustment range to eliminate pre-load, and I run them myself on my own cars. You get just over 1" of adjustment range (change in length). If you need more than that you have a bent sway bar.

As for the shipment, I typically have them in stock. Though frankly if I did drop-ship a set I'm not sure how that matters.
