I was told that the r888r aren't available for the us market. I have a transam making over 1150 rwhp and the r888 holds the power great I drive them on the highway all
the time and problems other than the noise. The slicks with divots in them you can drive
on the highway everyday to, just not in the rain.

Toyo said that the new tire won't be making it to the states. It isn't DOT compliant as it lacks the 2nd vertical groove and cannot be legally driven on the street. And, it probably isn't worthwhile as a track only tire since there are already so many other alternatives available that are dual purpose.

Pretty lame they did not design a tire for the US since it is such probably the largest market for Toyo.

Sizes as per the Toyo website... today....

195/55 R15
195/50 R15
225/40 ZR18

Obviously not targeting "larger" cars.

How is the current 888 DOT approved without a vertical groove?

Definitely a bummer we wont get to try them.

The two statements above that say the tire is not coming to the US.

They are coming - just no time frame yet.

You might be right, some day, but they are not available to the US market right now or any time soon that is what I was told by toyo. They cant even stock tires that they have been selling for a good while in the US.

I didn't say they are available now or very soon......I said there is no scheduled release date yet and won't be for a while.

I don't deny that Toyo has supply issues at what seems to be the wrong times, but so do all tire companies.......
